Make your own candy kit Glee Gum Ends 11/30

Ok, the facts first.
Not only is Glee Gum free of artificial ingredients, it's also gluten-free and Feingold-diet approved. Now that's good news!

Make your own gummies out of seaweed! Everything you need is included in this kit and it's easy! You can make your own gummi bears, gummi worms, gummi fish or any other shape. Make gummies on the stove or with a microwave. Great for class room activities, scout troops, birthday parties, home school, or after school groups. Adult supervision is recommended. Makes a great gift for kids (ages 8 & up)!

Inside each Make Your Own Gummies Kit you'll find: sour mix, colored and flavored sugar, powdered seaweed, seaweed, molding starch, instructions and the story of carrageenan.

All you have to do is wash the seaweed and boil it for a few minutes until the carrageenan is extracted. Then take out the seaweed itself, mix in the sugar, boil it again, pour it in the molds, and then add the sour mix! That's it - you have made your own yummy gummies!

Now my opinion.

I know your probably thinking, ewwww seaweed. I thought the same thing, but did you know, that your toothpaste, cottage cheese, deodorant, dog food, pudding, even salad dressing or sandwich meat can have seaweed in them. Check to see if any of these items have carrageenan and agar, these are gels made from seaweed.

This was a nice evening spent with the daughter. I allowed her to make the molds with whatever she wanted. So in the end after everything was said and done. These gummies were HER creations. She loves taking the credit.
